Sixty years to the day after being married a South Lanarkshire couple have returned to the church where the wedding took place to celebrate their Diamond Wedding Anniversary.

Remembrance Sunday

A Service of Remembrance took place at the Cenotaph, Duchess of Hamilton Park, Motherwell on Sunday 12 November.

Lady Susan Haughey CBE Lord Lieutenant represented Her Majesty The Queen and laid a wreath on behalf of the Lanarkshire Lieutenancy. Lady Susan Haughey said “I was especially honoured to participate in this ceremony having only recently been appointed as Lord Lieutenant”.

Cllr Jean Jones, Provost of North Lanarkshire, also laid a wreath and said: “I was honoured to lay wreaths at local War Memorials on behalf of the people of North Lanarkshire. Continue reading →
