On 18th February 2024 Deputy Lieutenant , Shuming Kong DL had the pleasure of representing the Lord Lieutenant of Lanarkshire , Lady Haughey CBE, at the Chinese new year celebrations in Glasgow .It was a fantastic event showcasing colourful dragon dances, Chinese traditional performances with artists from Glasgow , local communities and special visitors from China. Thousands of people in the community came to the celebrations and among invited guests were Lord lieutenants and Provosts from neighbouring local authorities and the Chinese consul general in Edinburgh.
