Many congratulations to Stepps couple John and Anne Morrison who celebrated 70 years of marriage together on 23rd March 2021 .
Since Covid restrictions are now lifted somewhat, members of the Lieutenancy and the Provost of the Council are now visiting some of those who celebrated anniversaries during lock-down .
On 19th October 2021 Deputy Lieutenant John Brown DL visited the happy couple, passing on congratulations from Lord Lieutenant of Lanarkshire Lady Haughey CBE, whilst Provost Jean Jones presented a gift on behalf of North Lanarkshire Council .
John Morrison also received the coin from Her Majesty the Queen for sharing the same year for his 95th Birthday . Mr Morrison is pictured being presented with the coin by Deputy Lieutenant John Brown DL.
