HRH The Princess Royal returned to Hamilton Park Racecourse on 26th September 2019 to officially open the new 118 bedroom Hampton by Hilton Hotel which was constructed on the site of a former grandstand with stunning views across the racecourse .
The Princess Royal was greeted by Lord Lieutenant Lady Haughey CBE and enjoyed revisiting a course where she has previously raced and in 1992 opened the Course Grandstand .
Investment of £12 million was involved to construct the new hotel which is already proving very popular with customers . Great thought and innovation has been taken to create a first class facility with interior designs themed to chart the proud history of the racecourse and its unique place now in the Scottish Horseracing calendar staging each year, a race for one of the oldest sporting trophies in the world ‘The Lanark Silver Bell ‘.
