THE DUKE OF ROTHESAY VISITS CASTLEBANK PARK AND HORTICULTURE TRAINING CENTRE ,LANARK

HRH Prince Charles , the Duke of Rothesay met with volunteers at Castlebank Park and Horticulture Centre in Lanark on Friday 28th June 2019.

Sylvia Russell MBE , Chair of the Lanark Community Development Trust accompanied HRH Prince Charles on a tour of the Park in beautiful sunshine,  visiting the old stables project , the gardens , the Fairy Dell and vegetable gardens . HRH was also introduced to a group of Scouts engaged in willow-weaving and a group of Beavers working in a Bug Hut before meeting with representatives of the Trust , Lanark in Bloom , other local organisations  who  along with the Prince’s Trust have supported the fantastic transformation  of Castlebank Park and the creation of its horticultural centre   over recent years .

HRH also opened a new set of beehives, cutting a yellow ribbon,  before planting a Scots pine in the garden .

The picture shows Lord Lieutenant Lady Haughey CBE bidding farewell to HRH Prince Charles at the end of what was a memorable visit for everyone involved .
