DIAMOND WEDDING ANNIVERSARY- CATHIE AND JIM STEVENSON

Many  congratulations to Cathie and Jim  Stevenson  from Airdrie who recently celebrated their  Diamond Wedding Anniversary  .

And visiting the happy couple  on  11th March 2026 was   Provost Kenneth Duffy   and Deputy Lieutenant Alison Plummer    DL. The   Provost presented  Mr and Mrs Stevenson  with flowers and a card  from  North  Lanarkshire Council  whilst Alison Plummer    passed  on congratulations from Lord Lieutenant of Lanarkshire Lady Haughey CBE.

Cathie and Jim met in November 1962 at Airdrie Palais, Cathie was from Coatbridge and Jim from Airdrie.

They married in March1966 at West Free Church in Coatbridge and have lived in Airdrie ever since.

Jim was a plasterer, working for Matthew Thom for many years, while Cathie stayed home to raise their children Karen and David, before taking on work in Petersburn Primary when the children were a bit older. Their son, David, and daughter-in-law Shirley share the same anniversary and have 3 sons and 1 granddaughter.

Both Cathie and Jim were active members, and Cathie was an elder in Jackson Church, Petersburn, Cathie was a member of the gospel group Spiritual Harmony.

They moved to Wellwynd Gardens in 2016 (at the time of their Golden Wedding Anniversary). They now attend Wellwynd Parish when health allows.
