Orbiston Neighbourhood Centre – 30th Birthday Celebrations

A special 30th Birthday Celebration was held for members of the Orbiston Neighbourhood Centre on Tuesday 5th August 2025. Members enjoyed a high tea and musical entertainment to celebrate this special Anniversary, along with the obligatory Birthday Cake!
Depute Provost Bob Burgess and Frank McNally MP were among the invited guests, and the Lieutenancy was represented by Alastair Peat DL.
The Centre was set up in August 1995 and continues to operate predominantly for the benefit of people living in the Orbiston and Bellshill area, although members from further afield also attend and make use of the facilities on a regular basis. They offer a varied weekly programme which includes activities such as Befriending, Elderly Care, Childcare, a Community Cafe, a Wee Friendly Club, a Community Fridge and a Men’s Social Group.
The attached photos include some of the Committee members and volunteers who organised the celebration, as well as the official ‘cutting of the Birthday Cake’.
