To commemorate the 80th anniversary of VE Day a Beacon Lighting Ceremony , hosted by North and South Lanarkshire Councils took place at Strathclyde Park on Thursday 8th May at 9.30pm.
The event included a showcase lighting of the Beacon , a bonfire on the loch , and raising the VE 80th anniversary flag while pipers played on the jetty .
