The 2025 King’s Award for Enterprise winners have been announced and two Lanarkshire businesses are among the successful applicants.
There are 199 award recipients across the U.K. in the following categories.
161 – International Trade
46 – Innovation
27 – Sustainable Development
10 – Promoting Opportunity
Eleven Scottish businesses have been successful, including two from Lanarkshire., Glencairn Crystal and ACS Clothing.
Glencairn Crystal, based in East Kilbride, specialises in the design, creation and supply of crystal and glass decanters for super premium spirits.
It has been successful in the Innovation Category. This is a remarkable fourth award for the business having been previous winners in 2006, 2012 and 2017.
It has received the Award for creating a series of innovative processes for the development of complex containers for the spirits industry.
Eurocentral based ACS Clothing is the leading fashion rental and renewal reverse logistics provider in the U.K. From suits and kilts to dresses and babygrows, they have been extending the life of clothing for 25 years.
The company has received a King’s Award in the Promoting Opportunity category, one of only ten awards in the U.K., for unlocking the potential in Disadvantaged Communities for Business Prosperity, Environmental Protection and People Development. ACS also received a King’s Award for Sustainable Development in 2023.
The Lord Lieutenant of Lanarkshire, Lady Susan Haughey CBE congratulated both companies for their achievements.
‘’ I am keen that other businesses in Lanarkshire will look at the success of Glencairn Crystal and ACS Clothing and recognise the business benefits which the King’s Award for Enterprise can present’’
A representative from each company will be invited to a Royal Reception at Windsor Castle on 12th June. The Lord Lieutenant will present both businesses with their Awards over the coming months.
