On 22nd February 2024 , the citizenship ceremony to welcome new citizens to South Lanarkshire , hosted by Provost Margaret Cooper, was attended by Deputy Lieutenant Derrick Hannan DL .
To mark the occasion the Provost presented participants with a medal whilst the Deputy Lieutenant passed over a certificate to each individual .
The original countries of origin included India , Pakistan , Poland , Syria , USA and Venezuela .
