FESTIVE MESSAGE FROM THE LORD LIEUTENANT OF LANARKSHIRE LADY SUSAN HAUGHEY CBE

Dear Residents of Lanarkshire,

As we approach the festive season, I want to thank our communities for the journey we’ve shared throughout this year. Serving as your Lord Lieutenant gives me great pride, and I am truly grateful for the kindness and community spirit that we have here in Lanarkshire.

The Lieutenancy has had the privilege of being represented at many events this year including 100th birthdays and Diamond Wedding anniversaries, highlighting the outstanding work of voluntary organisations, celebrating business awards, and sharing in school events. We have also attended Citizenship ceremonies, Royal Visits, Remembrance gatherings and many memorable local events to celebrate the historic Coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla in May. The people and organisations we have met this year really highlight the diversity and strength that makes Lanarkshire unique.

I extend my heartfelt thanks to the dedicated Deputy Lieutenants whose efforts have been instrumental in making these events successful. Your commitment to our communities has not gone unnoticed, and I am very grateful of the time and energy you have invested in serving the people of Lanarkshire.

Looking ahead, we are excited about the prospect of supporting further community engagements in the coming year. Our shared experiences will undoubtedly strengthen the bonds that make Lanarkshire a truly special place to call home.

I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year when it comes.

Lady Susan Haughey CBE

Lord Lieutenant of Lanarkshire
