At the end of 2022 Lord Lieutenant of Lanarkshire Lady Haughey CBE presented the Bothwell Horticultural Society with a very special tree in recognition of their excellent work in the local community . This included ambitious plans to plant 2000 trees as part of the Queen’s Green Canopy which aims to create a legacy in honour of Her Majesty’s extraordinary service to her country and to her people .
Over the weekend of 11th – 12th March volunteer members of the Society planted a further 500 trees at the Raith interchange area as they near the end of a project which has made such a tremendous contribution to the Queen’s Green Canopy .
