Retirement of Abdul Abid DL , James Dawnay DL , Sheriff Robert Dickson DL and John Mckenzie DL

Since late 2020,  four  Deputy Lieutenants of the Lanarkshire Lieutenancy  have  retired from active duties following  a combined total of  over 36  years  sterling service  .

Lord Lieutenant Lady Haughey CBE hosted a lunch at the Burnside Hotel , Rutherglen on 11th May 2022  to mark their  retirement and to thank them  for their  very valued contribution to the Lieutenancy as follows :

Sheriff Robert Dickson DL – retired October 2020.

Abdul Abid DL – retired November 2020.

John McKenzie DL – retired July 2021.

James Dawnay DL – retired November 2021 .

The Lord Lieutenant was joined at the lunch by colleagues , past and present from the Lanarkshire Lieutenancy, all of whom wish Robert , Abdul,  John, and James    good health and every happiness for the future .
