Queen’s Award for Enterprise

The Lanarkshire Lieutenancy is keen to highlight the benefits of the Queen’s Awards for Enterprise to the Lanarkshire Business Community.

There are now many great business awards events held both locally and nationally, the Lanarkshire Business Excellence Awards, being a brilliant example. The most long running and widely recognized is the Queen’s Awards for Enterprise.
The Queen’s Awards for Enterprise are for outstanding achievement by U.K. businesses in the categories of
* Innovation
* International Trade
* Sustainable Development
* Promoting Opportunity through Social Mobility
Deputy Lieutenant Terry Currie, is Chair of the Lieutenancy Business Group. He believes that the benefits of winning a Queen’s Award are significant. In a recent survey
* 77% of winners reported that the win had brought added commercial value to their businesses
* 73% saw employee engagement rise
* 73% gained extra press coverage
* 57% of International Trade winners achieved increased recognition overseas.

Terry Currie states that the Lanarkshire Lieutenancy would also welcome enquiries from businesses about the Awards.’’ We have a close relationship with the Lanarkshire Business Gateway and they are prepared to review whether individual businesses would meet the eligible criteria for a Queen’s Award. While many large companies have won the awards, the majority of winning businesses have less than 250 employees’’
